Living Room Shutters
The living room is usually the largest window in the house and the one people see from the street. It is worth spending a little longer on the specification here.
Light in the day, privacy at night
That combination is what most living rooms actually need, and it is what tier-on-tier was made for. Two independent sets of panels, one above the other: open the bottom for light, close it when the street lights come on, and leave the top doing whatever you like. Full height is the cleaner-looking and less expensive answer if you never need the two halves to work separately.
Tall windows and mid rails
Living room windows are often tall enough that a full height panel needs a mid rail — a horizontal bar that stiffens the panel so the louvres do not sag over time. Our configurator works this out from your height and tells you. On a very tall panel a split louvre section is required, which lets the top and bottom halves tilt separately.
Plantation blinds in a bay window, bay window shutters, shutters for a bay — the same job under different names. What changes is the measuring: a bay is several windows meeting at angles, and each section is measured on its own with the heights kept matched so the finished run lines up.
Which collection
A living room is dry, so the whole range is open to you. Signature is our flagship basswood and the usual choice where the window is the focal point of the room. Heritage suits a period property with original features. Linea is a lighter timber with a contemporary feel, and Classic keeps the cost down without looking it.

Linea is deliberately a short list of three — SF01 Pure White · SF02 Silk White · SF03 Lustre — because that is genuinely what the timber is finished in. It is not an oversight.

- You price it online. Enter the size and see the cost straight away — no callback, no survey.
- Made to your millimetres. Every shutter is made to the sizes you give us.
- You collect and fit. Collection is from Retford, and our fitting guides take it from there.
Because it is supply-only, there is no surveyor's visit and no fitter's day rate in the price.
