Kitchen Shutters
A kitchen window works hard — steam, splashes, and usually a sink directly underneath it. That rules some things in and some things out.
Composite, for the same reason as a bathroom
Steam off a hob or a kettle, and splashes at the sink, put a kitchen window in the same category as a bathroom. Classic is the natural choice — a composite built for humid rooms, and easy to wipe down. Endurance is the step up for a busy family kitchen where the window is right above the hob.
Café style earns its name here
A café style shutter covers the lower part of the window only. Over a sink, that is usually exactly right: privacy from the street at eye level, with the top of the window left clear so the room keeps its daylight. It is also the simplest and most affordable of our styles.
When full height makes more sense
If the kitchen window is in a dining area rather than over the sink, or you want the option of closing the whole thing off in the evening, full height or tier-on-tier will serve you better than café style.
