Why the material matters here

A bathroom fills with steam and then dries out again, over and over. Natural timber takes on a little moisture each time and gives it back as it dries, and enough of those cycles can show up as louvres that no longer sit evenly or a finish that lifts at the edges. It is slow, and it is the reason we point people towards composite in a wet room.

The two collections we recommend

  • Classic — our composite collection, designed for bathrooms, kitchens and other humid rooms. It is also our most affordable, which makes it an easy choice for a small window.
  • Endurance — a tougher, harder-wearing finish for a family bathroom that never really dries out.
A frosted window still needs privacy at night. Frosting stops detail, not shape or movement, once the light is on inside and dark outside. Closed louvres solve what frosting cannot.

Which style suits a bathroom

Café style is the popular choice: it covers the lower half of the window for privacy at eye level and leaves the top clear for light. Tier-on-tier does the same but lets you close the top as well when you want to. Full height suits a smaller window where you would rather have one clean run of louvres.
